| 'Nukhsa-e-Mohabbat' at Natrang' Sunday Theatre | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 8- Hilarious comedy play 'Nukhsa-e-Mohabbat' directed by Balwant Thakur was staged here today in Natrang's weekly theatre show 'Sunday Theatre'. This satirical comedy had a solid hidden message as how people spoil sensitive and sacred relations by out sourcing the solutions of their personal problems. The central character of the play Ram Lal is a simple clerk in a Government department, struggling day and night to make both ends meet. In office, he is a source of entertainment and makes everybody laugh with his funny jokes and humorous style. But at home, he is an utter failure and gets thrashes all time from his quarrelsome wife. Instead of understanding the root cause of the quarrelsome behavior of his wife, he keeps looking for tips and prescriptions to please his wife and later experiment at home. All his indigenous methods fail one after the other and on the contrary life becomes horrible at home due to his silly actions. Having failed in all his efforts, he out-sources his problem to one of his colleague Ram Vilas who had just returned from his three year foreign deputation. Ram Vilas tells him lot of interesting stories of American life and the ways European husbands and wives make each other happy by greeting, admiring and exchanging gifts. Impressed and convinced by the foreign life style, Ram Lal makes up his mind to stake the final bid by putting to use the imported tips and prescriptions of strengthening relations. Poor salaried clerk now confronts with the idea of buying an expensive gift for his wife and start a saving spree by going on foot to office, skipping refreshments and doing over time. After putting two months of hard effort and leading a miserable life he succeeds in collecting substantial amount to buy a surprise gift for his wife with the mission to please her once for all. The time comes for the final take with full imported backup of his friend he makes his surprise entry at home with a big gift. The big gift in return brings back a big thrash. The wife curses on him, saying that instead of wasting huge money on a gift of perfumes and cosmetics he should have brought some utility items for the house. The whole comedy turns into a tragedy and the poor lady reveals the problems she confronts in securing the basic minimum requirements with the growing inflation and reducing pockets sizes. This satirical comedy is a big lesson for most of the families who instead of living in their own realities keep experimenting with highly sensitive relations. Vijay Kaul as Ram Lal excelled in his debut lead performance in Natrang. Manali Sharma ably portrayed the feelings of a wife who taxes herself day and night to run a family. The role of man with imported ideas was played by Ritesh Dogra while Surbhi Sharma made her first appearance with a reasonable account of her performance
