Early Times Report
SAMBA, Nov 13: In a continued effort to curb illicit activities, Samba Police, led by SSP Benam Tosh, apprehended eleven additional vagrants, including an engineer, near 'chitta' hotspots. The arrests were made under the preventive provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) within the jurisdictions of Police Station Bari Brahmana and Police Station Vijaypur.
The identified individuals taken into custody are Sumeet Kumar, Syed Shazad Hussain, Neeraj Gupta, Sashi Kumar, Vipan Sharma, Aditiya Sharma, Naveen Pardhan, Sawan Singh, Gharu Ram, Sawan Majotra, and Sourab Jamwal. All were found wandering suspiciously near the infamous 'chitta' hotspots of Balole Khad Bari Brahmana and Rakh Barotian. Appropriate preventive legal action has been initiated against them.
The arrests were carried out by dedicated police teams, including SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma and SHO Police Station Vijaypur Sandeep Charak, under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar, and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
SSP Samba Benam Tosh emphasized that a total of seventy-five vagrants have been apprehended in the past ten months near 'chitta' hotspots. He appealed to parents, guardians, teachers, and elders in the community to advise senior students and youth against loitering near these known hotspots. Police patrolling has been intensified around suspected heroin hotspots in Samba district, resulting in the apprehension of vagrants involved in such activities. The crackdown aims to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
