Chemist shops are running short of medicines, LPG Gas is being sold on higher rates and auto fuel is almost running out. Many traders here are exploiting the situation and are selling goods at higher costs on the pretext of extra labour charges etc. This all is being done right under the nose of district administration and even after the appraisal of various senior citizens administration has not been able to take action against the culprits. In this connection when Deputy Commissioner Doda, Sharief-Ud-Din was contacted he denied any black marketing and added that they had made checking squads to keep vigil over such elements. Speaking over the road connectivity he said that there is alternative route of Bani-Basoli road which too will be made operational within a week of time. Moreover he said that they have permitted the shoppers to have extra of Rs 10 from consumers as labour charges or what ever it is suitable. Krishan Kumar Sharma, Additional Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Doda said that they had stock of food grains for 15 days and if they needed can arrange it either by aerial route or by road which option will be available to them. People here while expressing their anguish against the lack administration to take action against the black marketers said that it said something else and act other way. Mohammad Isaq, a warden (Dar-ul-Yatama) an Orphanage today paid Rs 70 extra for LPG cylinder but administration is denying from black marketing. This is not the only person who paid extra others include Mohammed Irshad Shah, Mohad rafiq Ganie, Bashir Ahmed, Rajesh Kumar. Isolated petrol pumps are running dry in the area and supply of gas cylinders and diesel supply is also affected by the continuous blockage of traffic. Ismail Bhat, one of the local resident in Doda said that he is running out of petrol supplies and in the absence of fresh supplies the petrol pump would stop selling petrol soon. He added same is the case with diesel products and gas cylinders. Though the state authorities are claiming that adequate stock of ration and other essential items are availbale but common resident facing the brunt of cold weather conditions in remote hilly district is finding it difficult to arrange essential items for their family members. The stock of medical supplies is believed to be sufficient in the area but certain medicine shops awaiting their supplies from Jammu have not received their consignments due to partial disruption. Inclement weather conditions for two days played havoc with the goods supply as slippery conditions prevented locals to cross the caved in portions of the Assar road to lift their supplies by trekking on foot. Meanwhile, the road clearing operations started on war footing in the area to restore vehicular movement. Border roads organisation started snow clearing oeprations on Bhaderwah Bani Basohli road to allow movement of goods carrier.
