How many times have you betrayed people: Mir asks Omar | Says NC leaders ‘blatant liars, cheaters’ | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Nov 14: Irked at former J&K chief minister and National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah calling him a conspirator, senior Apni Party leader Ghulam Hassan Mir on Tuesday termed NC leaders as “blatant liars and cheaters.” Addressing a gathering, Mir said, “NC misled people by raising the slogan of plebiscite. How many people lost their lives and how many were jailed for falling into the NC’s trap. They gave up the slogan of plebiscite as soon as they were given the power. Did anyone ask them how many times they have betrayed the people?” He said, “They are the same people who said that they will get autonomy. In 1996 they got 2/3rd majority. Did they get autonomy?” “Omar Abdullah was asked in an interview whether he regrets being a minister in a BJP Government in Centre. He (Omar) responded by saying that it was an honour to be a minister in the government led by late Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” Mir said. He said, “Omar needs to be reminded that it was the same government (BJP led government) which rejected the autonomy resolution passed by NC and he (Omar) continued to be the minister. NC leaders have always betrayed people of Kashmir and have thrived on politics of deceit.” |
