Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 17: Gaurav Gupta, former General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Jammu, has expressed his admiration and commendation for the extraordinary developmental strides made in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. Under the dynamic leadership of Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha, the Union Territory has embarked on a significant journey towards progress and prosperity.
Pertinent to mention here that Gaurav Gupta has had several opportunities to meet with the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir. In each of these interactions, he emphasized the importance of enhancing the Jammu tourism circuit to increase the footfall of tourists. He appreciated the proactive approach of the Lieutenant Governor and acknowledges his dedication to the growth and development of the region.
"Under the current administration led by LG Manoj Sinha, Jammu and Kashmir have seen tangible changes and developments, especially in the tourism sector," he said. "Projects like the Bahu Fort ropeway, Jambu Zoo, Suchetgarh border, development of Wetland Gharana at RS Pura, upcoming Legends League Cricket, Replica of Tirupati Balaji Temple, Retreat Ceremony at Suchetgarh Border, the musical fountain, as well as the installation of lighting and water fountains on the Tawi Bridges, and the skywalk at Vaishno Devi Bhawan are not just infrastructural achievements, but they also hold the potential to significantly boost tourist footfall in Jammu."
He further appreciated the Lt Governor for fulfilling the dreams of people of Jammu city with the inauguration of much awaited Tawi lake in the first week of December 2023. He said after missing several deadlines, finally the Tawi lake Project is going to see the day of light and all the credit goes to LG Sinha.
Gupta further noted that these projects reflect the government's commitment to elevating Jammu and Kashmir's status as a premier tourist destination, ensuring that the region's natural and cultural heritage is showcased to the world.
"The present administration is fully committed to the development of Jammu and Kashmir and has taken several bold decisions to bring the UT on a par with other developed states. We should all lend our support to the administration in its endeavors and contribute to the development of UT," he added.
