| Appoint petitioner under SRO 43, HC directs respondents | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 09- Coming to the rescue of the petitioner, Sheela Kumar, seeking appointment in terms of SRO 43 of 1994, as her husband who was working as Assistant Accounts Officer in Finance Department had died in harness, Justice Sunil Hali of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Jammu Wing, has directed the respondents to appoint the petitioner on a suitable post in accordance with SRO 43 of 1994 by relaxing the age limit. Justice Hali, after hearing Advocate PN Raina appearing for the petitioner and after going through the petition, said that the Court is of the opinion that respondents have to take a liberal view in this matter looking into the circumstances, in which the family lost their only bread-earner. It seems that the respondents have not done anything so far and as such are accordingly directed to appoint the petitioner by relaxing the age limit on a suitable post in accordance with SRO 43 of 1994. Court further directed that this exercise be conducted within a period of two months from the date a copy of this order is received by the respondents. The petitioner is also entitled for fixation of notional seniority for the purpose of pension from the date she had filed application for grant of compassionate appointment, Justice Hail ordered. Court, however, clarified that petitioner shall not be entitled to any arrears on this account. JNF
