| More industrial avenues soon: Slathia | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, February 09 –Minister for Industries and Commerce S.S. Slathia has said that the Government is committed to give fillip to Industrial sector besides utilizing the skills of the educated unemployed youth of the State which would help create more avenues of employment. He said such youth could produce employment not only for themselves but for others also. He said that Government is aware about the problems of youth and several steps are underway to tackle the unemployment problem in the State. This was stated by the Minister while interacting with several deputations especially youth belonging to various areas of the Valley who met the Minister at Winter Secretariat, Srinagar here on Monday. The deputationists put forth their demands and grievances which include repairs and renovation of lanes and drains, providing of better road connectivity and power, creating employment avenues and to ensure that the benefits of various developmental schemes launched under the State and Central schemes by the different departments reach to the people. The Minister heard them patiently and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into. In some cases he directed the concerned for early redressal. To deputations of Kanihama, Mazhama and Batpora who demanded setting up of Kani Jamawar Shawl Project units, the Minister instructed the Director Handloom for furnishing of report within 15 days in this behalf.
