NHPC hosts UT level painting competition promoting energy conservation awareness

JAMMU, Nov 20: NHPC Regional Office, Jammu, organized a State/UT Level painting competition today, focused on "Energy Conservation." The event, held at Narwal premises, witnessed the participation of 100 students from different schools across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, advocating for energy-saving initiatives.
The competition, an integral part of the national campaign for Energy Conservation, drew students from two groups: "Group A" (Class V to VII) and "Group B" (Class VIII to X). The initiative, supported by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India, aimed to raise awareness and promote the message of energy conservation among the youth.
Winners of Group A:
First Prize: Keshav Padha, Class 7th, Cooperative Public School, Jammu
Second Prize: Adarsh Bhagat, Class 6th, J&K Public Police School, Miran Sahib
Third Prize: Manvi Verma, Class 7th, KC International School, Jammu
Consolation Prizes: Awarded to 10 students in Group A
Winners of Group B:
First Prize: Vrindalika Sharma, Class-9th, Delhi Public School, Jammu
Second Prize: Manpreet Kour, Class 8th, J&K Police Public School, Miran Sahib
Third Prize: Vanshika Dutta, Class 10th, Delhi Public School, Jammu
Consolation Prizes: Awarded to 10 students in Group B
A five-member jury, consisting of eminent personalities in the field of Art and Culture, evaluated the paintings according to the guidelines set by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. Shri Bikram Singh, Executive Director of NHPC Regional Office, Jammu, distributed participation certificates, certificates of merit, and prize money to the winning students.
Expressing his congratulations to the participants, Shri Bikram Singh emphasized the importance of children conveying the message of energy conservation through their creative paintings. He urged everyone to actively participate in the campaign, highlighting that saving energy is equivalent to producing energy. The event aimed to spread the message of energy conservation nationwide and integrate it into daily life.
The ceremony was attended by Rajan Jairath, General Manager (HR), P. Sathyamurthi, General Manager (HR), officers and staff of NHPC Ltd, along with students, teachers, and parents from various schools.
