| | | DDF hails Kotwal as Div Com Early Times Report Doda, Feb 9 Doda Development Front (DDF) today convened a general body meeting under the chairmanship of its president, Advocate Chuni Lal Thakur in which they highlighted the long pending demands of the front beside this they also welcome the decision of appointment of Dr Pawan Kotwal as Divisional Commissioner, Jammu. Considering the inconvenience of the general public caused due to blockade of Batote-Kishtwar highway Front has demanded the construction of Doda-Dessa-Kaprran road as an alternative route for connecting the twin Doda and Kishtwar district with rest of the sate. Adding they said that the current route is at the verge of sinking because due blockade of Baglihar Dam the water level of river Chenab has increased due to which major portion of the road got cracked. Addressing the meeting Advocate Thakur said that the projects commenced during the previous regime of the government too needs timely supervision so that the projects can be completed within the stipulated time as fixed earlier. Expressing concern over the construction of Ganpath Bridge he said that the pace at which its construction was started has slowed down and has raised mistrust among the general public towards its completion. He further said that Dr Kotwal being the son of the soil and native of this district is well aware with the conditions of this hilly belt and will do justice with the much awaited demands of Doda. He further said that the situation which was aroused due to sinking of national highway also need regular check as there are some elements who are trying to make bucks out of peoples suffering. He invited Dr Pawan Kotwal to visit here and redress their demands with priority. Those who were present include Mohammed Ashraf Zarger, Ghulam Nabi Batt, Dr Ajaz Karim Batt and others.
