Shiksha Niketan holds Children Science Congress

JAMMU, Nov 20: The scientific prowess of young minds took center stage at Shiksha Niketan Hr. Sec. School Jeewan Nagar, Jammu, as the 31st National Children Science Congress (NCSC) for District Jammu unfolded. Organized by the National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society Jammu in collaboration with the Department of School Education, Government of UT of J&K, the event showcased the culmination of efforts by child scientists and guide teachers from various schools. Presided over by Suraj Singh Rathore, Chief Education Officer, Jammu, and graced by A.K. Raina, Deputy Chief Education Officer, Jammu, and Rameshwar Mengi, Principal of Shiksha Niketan Hr. Sec. School, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation and scientific inquiry.
Under the leadership of Zaffarullah Khan, State Coordinator NCSC Jammu, and with the guidance of Kuldeep Gupta, State Academic Coordinator NCSC Jammu, approximately 60 science projects were presented, reflecting the creativity and scientific acumen of budding child scientists. The projects were evaluated by learned evaluators in two groups - seniors and juniors. A total of 20 outstanding projects were selected to advance to the state-level competition scheduled for later in December.
Suraj Singh Rathore, in his presidential address, commended the efforts of the NCSC Jammu team for organizing a fascinating science program aimed at nurturing scientific temperament in students. He praised the management of Shiksha Niketan Hr. Secondary School for their commitment to scholastic and co-scholastic activities benefiting students and educators.
Dr. Ashaq Hussain, Chairman NCSC Jammu J&K, emphasized the importance of NCSC in promoting science and instigating a spirit of research among young minds. He congratulated the selected child scientists and encouraged those who did not make it to the next level, stating that "End here does not mean that you have to stop here, but End actually means Efforts Never Die."
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the pivotal role played by the Principal, staff, and management of Shiksha Niketan Hr. Sec. School Jeewan Nagar Jammu. Their unwavering support and cooperation were instrumental in making the event a resounding success. The NCSC continues to inspire and foster scientific curiosity among the youth, paving the way for future innovations.
