NSS Unit of GDC Mahanpur organizes "Yuva Vaani" on Kisan Sampark Abhiyaan

JAMMU, Nov 22: Today, the NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Mahanpur collaborated with various departments including Agriculture, Sericulture, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, and Horticulture to organize a one-day orientation program called "Yuva Vaani" on Kisan Sampark Abhiyaan. The initiative was conducted under the able guidance of the college Principal, Dr. Sangeeta Sudan.
The primary objective of the program was to create awareness among students about the benefits of centrally sponsored schemes available for their welfare and development. The event featured Block Nodal Officer Dr. Sahil Altaf from Animal Husbandry, Visiting District Officer Farhet Abass Wani from Sericulture Department, Raj Singh from Agricultural and Allied Department, and Arjun Sharma from Horticulture Department as resource persons.
The speakers addressed the audience, consisting of around 40 students, on the aims, objectives, plan details, scheme benefits, assistance, and modern farming techniques. The program aimed to empower students with information about the various government schemes related to agriculture and allied sectors.
Staff members present during the event included Dr. Balbinder Singh, Prof. Arvind Kumar, Sourabh Dutta, Dr. Hilal Ahmed Bhat, Dr. Mohammed Sardar Bhatti, Prof. Ajay Manhas, Dr. Sapna Devi, along with non-teaching staff. The collaborative effort sought to provide valuable insights to students and equip them with knowledge for their future endeavors in the agricultural domain.
