Heartfelt farewell to NSS PO Dr Rippy Bawa at GDC Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Nov 23: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College (GDC), Udhampur, organized a warm and touching farewell for Dr. Rippy Bawa, Assistant Professor in the Department of English and NSS Programme Officer (PO), who served the institute for over seven years. The event, held under the supervision of the Principal, Prof Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, saw emotional moments and expressions of gratitude.Dr. Rippy Bawa, after her dedicated service to GDC Udhampur, has been transferred to Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The farewell was a poignant moment for both the outgoing NSS PO and the college community.
The NSS Volunteers warmly welcomed the attendees with traditional tilak and flowers at the Conference Hall. The event commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Prof Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Prof Babu Lal Thakur (HoD Education), Dr. Rippy Bawa, and the newly appointed NSS POs, Dr. Gurpreet Kour and Prof Sanjeet Singh.
The farewell featured various cultural performances, including a duet dance, a ghazal, and a farewell song. Notably, senior NSS Volunteers from 2019 participated in the farewell, showcasing their respect and regard for Dr. Rippy Bawa.
Senior NSS Volunteers presented heartfelt performances, including a rap, Punjabi dance, and emotional speeches, expressing their deep appreciation for Dr. Rippy Bawa's guidance and leadership.
Dr. Rippy Bawa was honored with the "Best PO" award, recognized for her outstanding contributions. The award was bestowed upon her by Principal Prof Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, who also shared words of appreciation for her efficient working.
In her farewell speech, Dr. Rippy Bawa thanked and blessed all the volunteers. She emphasized the path of selfless service and expressed gratitude to the college administration for fostering a conducive environment.
Principal Prof Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta commended the NSS Family for their active participation in various events. He acknowledged Dr. Rippy Bawa's impactful work, sculpting NSS volunteers into assets for both the college and society. He wished her success in her future endeavors and welcomed the newly appointed POs, Dr. Gurpreet Kour and Prof Sanjeet Singh.
The farewell ceremony concluded with heavy hearts bidding adieu to Dr. Rippy Bawa, marking the end of a significant chapter at GDC Udhampur.
