Front to fight for the cause of masses; Muzaffar Shah

Jammu, Feb 10- Several regional and national political parties today floated united platform under the name and style of ‘Jammu and Kashmir All Parties Peoples Front’.
Announcing this at a press conference here today, Muzzaffar Shah from Awami National Conference and chairman of the Front said that various political parties of the State who participated in the recently concluded elections strongly felt that Congress and National Conference have again entered into wedlock of inconvenience which has earlier been rejected by the masses. He said that the Congress-PDP wed-lock also resulted in disaster.
Shah said that thus different political parties under united banner floated a platform to work for the welfare of people of Jammu and Kashmir State.
Highlighting the agenda of the newly floated Front, Shah said that the Front would fight for restoration of true democracy in the state, introduction of Panchayati Raj, stoppage of constituency development funds, reduction of the term of the state assembly from 6 years to 5 years thus bringing it at par with other states of the country. He also demanded that the Right to Information Act should be amended immediately and passed at par with Central RTI Act, provision of stipend to unemployed educated youths, introduction of crop insurance scheme, formulation of vibrant industrial and transport policy, comprehensive settlement of refugees , ensuring unity and integrity of the state, decentralization of powers, compensation to sufferers of Baba Amarnath land agitation, immediate implementation of Sixth pay commission, removal of grievances of all three regions. He also demanded lodging of state subject détentes languishing in various jails of the country into state jails.
The leaders of front pledged to work for completion of the agenda of Jammu and Kashmir All Parties Peoples Front.
Those who joined the newly formed front included Sheikh Abdul Rehman of Samajwadi Party and Patron of Front, Gohar Farooq, vice president, Sanjay Saraf of LJSP, Lamba Ram Gandhi from Kranti Dal, A G Nassem from JKNDC, J A Qazmi from IDP.
