JK needs to make clear cut employment policy: JKDPN
2/10/2009 10:43:31 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 10- ‘Noting the problem of unemployment is resulting in militancy in the state’, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party Nationalist (JKDPN) today asked the state government to spell out a clear cut policy on employment in Jammu and Kashmir.
"We are concerned by the growing unemployment in the state. This has resulted in militancy. The economic meltdown has further compounded these fears and state government should now spell out their employment policy", party general secretary, Zaffar Khan told media.
He said since the global recession has started showing its impact in the state, the government must rise to the occasion and chalk out adequate employment policy to deal with it. Khan said that a good number of youth from Jammu and Kashmir are working in other parts of the world and are likely to get affected by economic recession.
"Since the government had promised an employment package for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir it must also keep in mind the state of affairs of youth working in other countries before formulating any policy on employment," he said.
