Jammu, Feb 10- The District Unit of BJP today organized a hawan to pray for the long life of party octogenarian and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Vajpayee is currently undergoing treatment in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi after he developed chest infection last Tuesday.
Member National Executive and former State President Dr. Nirmal Singh and JMC Mayor Kavinder Gupta performed the havan in accordance with the Vedic rites.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Gupta, District President, BJP said we are confident that Vajpayee will soon recover from chest infection and would return home to provide valuable advices to the party leaders in view of the coming Parliamentary elections.
The Nation needed veteran politicians like former Prime Minister Vajpayee at a time like this when the Nation appeared to be in turmoil due to terrorism and global economic downturn requiring a mature and wise leadership at the helm of the affairs as Atal ji is favorite among all the religions as well all the political parties.
Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included Jaideep Sharma, Usha Choudhary, Rajeev Charak Ashwani Sharma, Daya Ram Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Dinesh Gupta, Vinay Gupta, Ch.
