PPND GDC commemorates Constitution Day, Symposium

Samba, Nov 25: In honor of Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas), the Department of Political Science, in collaboration with the Department of Sociology at Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Govt. Degree College Samba, organized a symposium on the “Relevance of the Indian Constitution in Present Times.” The event aimed to engage students in discussions about the importance of Constitution Day and the ideology of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. A substantial number of students participated in the symposium, sharing their views on the significance of Constitution Day and reflecting on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s principles. Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, the Principal of the college, expressed her thoughts, emphasizing that Constitution Day embodies the guiding principles of democracy. She encouraged every citizen to embrace the qualities outlined in the Constitution to be good citizens.
The proceedings of the event were skillfully conducted by Prof. Karan Maini, Head of the Department of Political Science. The program concluded with a pledge-taking ceremony led by the college principal, faculty members, and students, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the principles of the Indian Constitution.
The symposium served as a meaningful way to commemorate Constitution Day and foster awareness of the guiding principles that shape India’s democratic framework.
