Celebration of Constitution Day, 76 NCC Raising Day held at Govt P.G. College

Rajouri, Nov 25: In a grand celebration marked by fervor and enthusiasm, Govt P.G. College, Rajouri, commemorated Constitution Day and the 76th NCC Raising Day on November 25, 2023. The event, held under the guidance of the College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Shamim A Azad, was organized by Major Tanveer Ahmad (NCC Officer SD) and Prof Salma Farooq (NCC Officer SW) in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Department of Political Science.
The NCC cadets, under the wings of SD/SW, actively participated in various events, showcasing their commitment to community service. A notable highlight was the Swachhta Abhiyaan, where cadets conducted a cleanliness drive across the college campus, reinforcing the spirit of social responsibility.
The event commenced with a formal welcome to the chief guest, Prof (Dr.) Shamim A Azad, by Mr Tanwir Ahmad. The cultural program featured mesmerizing performances by NCC cadets, including songs and dance competitions. Internet sensations Miss Aneesa and Mr Muzamil added to the charm with their enchanting singing performances.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Shamim A Azad emphasized the vital role of NCC in shaping the personality and character of the youth. He commended the dedication of Prof Salma Farooq, Major Tanveer Ahmad, and the cadets in celebrating NCC Day with passion. Prof Azad highlighted the achievements of the NCC Unit and encouraged them for future endeavors.
Prof Javaid Iqbal, Head of the Department of English, delivered a motivational talk, inspiring cadets to become responsible citizens. He applauded the cadets for their outstanding cultural performances.
The Constitution Day celebration saw a massive gathering of students, NCC cadets, and NSS volunteers taking the preamble pledge under the guidance of Prof Amit Bhalla, HOD, Political Science. Students also delivered speeches reflecting on Samvidhan Diwas and the development of the Indian Constitution.
The event was efficiently conducted by cadets Mr Sahil Sharma and Mr Waseem Choudhary. Prof Salma Farooq expressed gratitude in the formal vote of thanks, emphasizing the role of NCC training in building responsible citizens and leaders. Technical support for the event was provided by Prof Amjed Khan Bhatti, Mr Ajaz, Mr Shahbaz Khan, and Mr Chamail Kumar from the Department of Computer Science.
The celebration was attended by faculty members, a colossal number of students, NCC cadets, and NSS volunteers. The event concluded on a patriotic note with the singing of the NCC Song, symbolizing the cadets’ pledge to be exemplary citizens of the nation.
