District level farmers awareness camp held at Dansal

JAMMU, Nov 25: Sheep Husbandry Department, Jammu today organized one day “District Level Awareness camp” at Block Dansal Jammu in which Director SHD Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdahry was the chief guest. on the occasion. More than hundred breeders participated in the awareness camp.
Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdahry Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, Jammu interacted with Sheep & Goat breeders of the area and informed the public and PRIs regarding the schemes launched by the Department for the welfare of the people. He exhorted the people to come forward to avail the benefits of the Employment Generating Schemes of the department launched by the Government to develop this highly lucrative sector. He stressed upon the breeders to constitute FPOs, avail Livestock insurance under NLM and Kissan Credit Card (KCC) scheme
The officers were asked to put in extra efforts for effective implementation of different schemes to double the farmer’s income. He further encouraged the breeders to use new technologies such as Artificial Insemination, synchronization of estrus and embryo transfer, machine shearing, besides value addition of the products to get better dividends. Various problems put forth by the breeders were redressed on the spot by the Director after giving them a patient hearing. He also assured them that other issues will be redressed as per laid down norms in a time bound manner. Certificates were also distributed among the members of FPOs by the Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu.

Those who attended included Dr. Tara Chand, I/c Joint Director (Ext.), Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, DSHO, Jammu/I/c Joint Director (Farms), Dr. Surinder Gupta Deputy Director (Central), Dr. Nasir Altaf Zargar, Technical Officer and Asheesh Sharma, Publicity Officer Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu, besides officers, officials of the Department and various PRIs, members also attended the function included Soma Devi, Sarpanch Dansal, Capt ( Retired) Pyare Lal Sarpanch Churka, Mohd Sadiq Sarpanch Jawakha, Col. Sanjay Dutta, Mtr. Samshadh Begum Chairman Dansal Satwari Sheep & Goat producers organization Co-operative limited Bambyal, Jammu.
