RAJOURI, Nov 25: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting to review the progress made under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana (Urban) scheme in the Urban areas of the district.
During the meeting, it was revealed that substantial progress has been achieved in the implementation of the scheme, with 903 houses completed out of the targeted 2,155 houses. In light of this, the District Development Commissioner emphasized the need for a mission-oriented approach to ensure the successful implementation of the housing scheme.
To further strengthen the execution of the project, the officers were directed to adopt a dedicated and proactive mindset, channeling their efforts towards meeting the set targets. The District Development Commissioner stressed the importance of timely completion of the remaining houses, emphasizing that no complacency or negligence would be tolerated. Furthermore, the District Development Commissioner placed significant emphasis on the quality of material used in the construction of houses. He also highlighted the importance of adhering to stringent quality standards, ensuring that the houses are not only affordable but also durable and sustainable. By prioritizing quality, the District Administration aims to create a housing infrastructure that withstands the test of time, providing a safe and comfortable environment for the residents.
The progress achieved under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana (Urban) scheme in Rajouri is a significant step towards the realization of the overarching goal of providing affordable housing to all.
