Red Cross organizes Raffle Draw Prize Distribution, Certificates, Life Membership

JAMMU, Nov 25: The Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu and Kashmir, organized a dynamic event on November 25, 2023, at Red Cross Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu. The event featured the distribution of prizes for the Raffle Draw, First Aid Certificates, and Life Membership Certificates, under the leadership of Manoj Sinha, Hon'ble Lt. Governor (President, IRCS) Jammu and Kashmir. R.K Shavan, JKAS, MD, JK Project Construction Corporation Ltd., graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Rehana Tabassam and Er Kuldeep Singh, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, were the Guests of Honour.
The function commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the presentation of bouquets to the esteemed guests. Vironica Marwah, Field Officer, welcomed the guests and provided an overview of the various programs and activities conducted by the Red Cross in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Raffle Draw, conducted on May 8, 2023, aimed to collect funds to provide essential relief, medical assistance, and support to those facing challenging circumstances, including individuals suffering from ailments such as cancer, kidney issues, liver problems, Thalassemia, and more. The winners of the Raffle Draw were announced, and exciting prizes like a Laptop, Voltas Window AC 1.5 Ton, LG LED 32', and LG Microwave were distributed.
The event also acknowledged individuals who completed first aid training through IRCS, Jammu and Kashmir. Certificates were awarded to participants, recognizing their commitment to acquiring life-saving skills.
Furthermore, life membership certificates were distributed to individuals who registered themselves as Life Members, expressing their dedication to the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross.
The chief guest and guests of honour were presented with mementos as a token of appreciation. In their speeches, they congratulated the Red Cross for the successful program and emphasized the need for more coordinated and scientific activities to reach and cover the maximum number of people in need of Red Cross support. They highlighted the unique role of the organization in caring for the sick and suffering, seeking cooperation from all departments and the public to reach out to the unreached.
