Deputy Commissioner chairs meeting to finalize Stamp Duty Rates

RAJOURI, Nov 25: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, chaired a crucial meeting to deliberate upon and finalize the stamp duty rates in the district, here today.
During the meeting, the Revenue Officers provided a comprehensive analysis of the existing stamp duty rates and apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the percentage of hike proposed in different areas under their respective jurisdictions. They also presented detailed justifications for the proposed increase in stamp duty rates.
A threadbare discussion was held on the valuation rates received from various rural and urban areas within the Rajouri District.
The purpose of this discussion was to ensure a fair and equitable determination of stamp duty rates that reflect the prevailing market dynamics and property values in different regions of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal emphasized the importance of striking a balance between the need for revenue generation and the overall well-being of the residents.
He stressed that the revised stamp duty rates should be reasonable and reflective of the market conditions, while also considering the socio-economic factors impacting the local population.
The Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal further highlighted the significance of stamp duty as a crucial source of revenue for the government, enabling it to undertake various developmental initiatives for the welfare of the inhabitants of the district. He expressed his commitment to ensuring a transparent and efficient stamp duty system that aligns with the vision of the Government to promoting a robust and sustainable real estate sector.
