| Ajaz Jan participates in Nagar Kirtan in Poonch | | |  Early Times Report
POONCH, Nov 25: Ajaz Jan, Provincial President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) youth and former MLA, today participated in the Nagar Kirtan organized by the Sikh community in Poonch to mark the 554th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
The Nagar Kirtan was a vibrant procession that started from the main town and culminated at College Ground Poonch, with people from all walks of life joining in to celebrate the occasion.
Jan was accompanied by senior JKNC leaders and a large number of party workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajaz Jan said that Guru Nanak Dev ji was a great saint and philosopher who preached the message of peace, love, and brotherhood. He said that his teachings are as relevant today as they were ever.
Jan also said that the Sikh community has played a significant role in the development of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the JKNC is committed to uplift the Sikh community to promote harmony and unity in the state.
Jan emphasized the importance of maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood in Jammu and Kashmir, a state where people of various religions reside peacefully. He stressed that unscrupulous elements often attempt to sow discord among communities, and it is crucial for the people of Jammu and Kashmir to remain vigilant against such attempts.
The senior NC leader urged everyone to work together to strengthen the bonds of unity and preserve the state's rich tapestry of diverse cultures and traditions. |
