KISHTWAR, Nov 25: Commissioner Secretary Cooperatives, Yasha Mudgal, who is also the Electoral Roll Observer for Kishtwar, today chaired a meeting to review progress achieved under ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR)-2023 of Electoral Rolls in the district.
Deputy Commissioner/District Election Officer Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav and other senior officers including Deputy District Election Officer, Naresh Kumar, EROs and AERos besides BLOs were present on the occasion.
The EROs briefed the Commissioner Secretary about the progress and ongoing work with regard to SSR of Photo Electoral Rolls in their respective Assembly Constituencies.
Taking a review of progress achieved in the district during ongoing SSR, Yasha Mudgal sought details about the number of claims and objections received, so far.
Emphasizing upon the concerned EROs and AEROs for conducting the Summary revisions of e-rolls according to guidelines of ECI as per notified schedule, Commissioner Secretary asked them to activate BLOs to achieve the targets ensuring that no eligible voter is left behind without registration.
Commissioner Secretary also directed for ensuring timely disposal of claims and objections. While checking the forms of Claims and Objections, Yasha Mudgal directed the BLOs to ensure that all required documents are attached with these forms.
Commissioner Secretary highlighted the importance of engaging Youth Icons as SVEEP ambassadors in SSR 2023 process. She asked the relevant authorities to enhance campaigns in higher secondary schools and colleges. This initiative aims to fortify and reinforce the electoral system by actively involving the younger fraternity into the Voter Registration process.
Subsequently, Commissioner Secretary visited various polling stations to assess the on-ground situation.
Earlier, the Commissioner Secretary engaged in an interactive meeting with representatives of political parties, attentively listening to their grievances regarding SSR-2023. She assured them to address and resolve their concerns effectively.
Commissioner Secretary emphasized the importance of ensuring seamless cooperation between booth-level agents BLAs and BLOs for the hassle-free process of summary revision of electorates. This collaborative effort aims to streamline the SSR process for optimal efficiency, she added.
