| Kasab in danger: RAW | | | Agencies Mumbai, Feb 10: In a startling revelation, India’s external intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has unearthed a conspiracy by Pakistan’s ISI to kill Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist of the Mumbai terror attacks. The conspiracy came to light after RAW intercepted an Internet conversation from Bhuj in Gujarat. According to the taped conversation, which is in possession of RAW sleuths, the ISI has given a contract to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim for killing Kasab - a resident of Pakistan’s Faridkot. The underworld don has entrusted his brother Chhota Shakeel with the job, who has deployed 15 sharp shooters to accomplish the task. According to officials, the plan is to kill Kasab when he is shifted to Arthur Road Jail. Following the renewed threat, the security of the lone surviving terrorist has been increased. Kasab is in the most wanted list of 15 countries that have registered case against him and have ordered their own probe. A chagesheet will be filed against him on Feb 24. The citizens of these 15 states including US, Israel, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, Britain, Thailand, France, Germany had died in the Mumbai attacks and now their governments will file case against the lone surviving Mumbai attack terrorist. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has ruled out any compromise with Kasab’s security and said that his “security is our responsibility". Kasab is already under intense watch and is protected by a three layer security ring. Not only this, he is also under constant CCTV surveillance and officers of the rank of Sub-Inspector monitor him round the clock. The fact that security official don’t want to take any chance with Kasab’s security can be gauged by the fact that in all the hearings till now (five), the Magistrate has come to the Crime Branch office where the terrorist is kept rather than police taking Kasab to the Magistrate. According to officials, they won’t shift Kasab to Arthur Road Jail until they are completely sure of his security. The officials’ apprehensions are justified as the jail houses several of Dawood’s men, who can pose a threat to Kasab’s life. |
