KATHUA, Nov 27: Principal Government Degree College Kathua Prof. Seema Mir felicitated the winners of display your talent Competition held at University of Jammu. The Programme was organized by the Department of Social Welfare, University of Jammu. As a tribute to Late. Ustaad Mustak Kak, an eminent theatre director/ actor of National repute. The Programme was aimed at creating awareness about the essence of Music and its relevance in day to day life. The real aim was also to make students familiar with the advancement in music along with change. Worthy Principal Prof. Seema Mir felicitated the winners with floral garlands and appreciated them for their achievement at the University level. Worthy Principal was accompanied by the senior faculty members of the college Prof Raj Kiran, Prof. Shivani Kotwal, Convener debate and literary committee, Dr Shub Kumar, Dr. Upasna Andotra, Dr J S Soodan Physical Director and Dr Natasha Baloria, Incharge of winners team of GDC Kathua.
The event was witnessed by the cultural committee of the University Campus. GDC Kathua bagged second position in Western Group Song category under the supervision of Dr Natasha Baloria from the Department of English. Esteemed Principal Prof. Seema Mir, in her address to the winner Squad of the college, has appreciated the achievement and hard work of the students. She has encouraged the students by her encouraging and highly motivated words for them. She has promised all help to the students to pursue their practice and wished them all success in life. She has also persuaded the students to take active part in Music and Arts activities along with their studies. She has apprised them that GDC kathua has started Music as a Subject. She has highly elaborated that this is the need of time that every student should develop overall personality to become the leaders of their respective fields. Worthy Principal Prof. Seema Mir congratulated the team incharge of western group song winner squad Bharat Attri, Aman Jasrotia,Umesh Sambyal, Gagandeep Singh, and Ankush Majotra.
