GDC Vijaypur forms human chain in observance of World AIDS Day

VIJAYPUR, Nov 28: Government Degree College (GDC), Vijaypur, led by the esteemed Principal, Prof. Dr. Vandana Gupta, organized a Human Chain event to mark World AIDS Day 2023. The Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of the college collaborated to raise awareness among students about the seriousness of HIV infection/AIDS and the crucial preventive measures that responsible citizens must adopt. The Human Chain event aimed to instill a sense of responsibility and awareness among college students regarding the challenges posed by HIV/AIDS. Prof. Ritu Bhagat, Associate Professor of Education, delivered an interactive talk to enlighten students about AIDS and emphasize various protective measures. The theme for the current year, "Let Communities Lead," was highlighted during the talk. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Gupta addressed the students during the event, urging them to act as ambassadors in removing stigmas associated with HIV/AIDS from society. The principal emphasized the importance of community participation in leading the fight against AIDS. The event received coordination from Dr. Naseem Chowdhary, NSS Program Officer, and Prof. Renuka Kundal, Lecturer in Political Science. Dr. Neelam Devi, Lecturer in Hindi, and Prof. Sonia Devi, Lecturer in Hindi, played crucial roles in the successful organization of the event.
