UDHAMPUR, Nov 28: The Constitutional Day celebration at Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur, themed "My Constitution My Pride," concluded with a series of activities aimed at promoting awareness and understanding of constitutional principles. The event was organized by various departments and cells, overseen by the college's Principal, Prof(Dr). Romesh Kumar Gupta.
On November 6, 2023, the Department of Political Science and Sociology jointly organized an awareness lecture on Women's Rights in the Conference Hall. Prof. Sanjay Kumar delivered the lecture, with a significant turnout of faculty members. Continuing the theme, on November 7, 2023, the Department of Political Science, in collaboration with NSS and Sociology, organized an awareness program on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences. The students actively participated in the event.
A detailed lecture on fundamental duties was conducted on November 14, 2023, by Prof. Rayees Ahmed, organized by the Department of Political Science and Sociology.
Further, on November 15, 2023, the Department of Sociology organized a seminar on the life of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Prof. Anoksha Sharma, Head of the Sociology Department, provided a comprehensive overview of the life and legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
The NSS Unit of GDC Udhampur organized an awareness program on the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act-2015 on November 24, 2023. Dr. Rippy Bawa, a special guest, contributed to the success of the event.
