Dental Restorative Camp Promotes Oral Health, Empowers Girl Child

Jammu, Nov 28: The Institute of Government Dental College (IGGDC), Jammu, took an important step towards promoting dental awareness and maintaining the oral health of the girl child by organizing a dental restorative camp at Carmel Convent School, Kunjwani Bye Pass, Jammu. This event was held on [28.11.23] and witnessed the participation of over 400 students from class 9th to 12th.
The camp kicked off with an insightful dental awareness lecture delivered by renowned dentists, Dr. Rachna, Dr. Ajay, and Dr. Rudra. Following the lecture, a question and answer session was held, where the students had the opportunity to interact with the seminar faculty of IGGDC, Jammu, and have their queries regarding dental health addressed.
Aligned with the government’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative, this dental camp showcases IGGDC, Jammu’s commitment to the overall well-being of the girl child.
Recognizing the significance of oral health in the overall development of young girls, this initiative aims to empower them and equip them with the knowledge and resources to maintain good oral hygiene.
Being a continuation of a series of dental restorative camps, this event was organized under the expert guidance of Dr. Azhar Malik (HOD, Dept. of conservative dentistry and endodontics) and coordinated by Dr. Shamim Anjum, the Incharge of Dental Speciality Camp. Ms. Maria Swati, Principal, Carmel Convent School provided great help in co-ordinating in dental speciality camp.
The off-campus activities were executed diligently, characterized by the passionate efforts of the team of expert doctors.
Dr. Rakesh Krishan Gupta, the Principal and Dean of IGGDC Jammu, provided invaluable guidance and direction, fostering an environment that encourages such impactful initiatives.
His support has been instrumental in the success of this event and in promoting overall dental health within the society.
The dental restorative camp at Carmel Convent School served as an important platform for students to receive professional dental examinations and treatments.
By providing expert dental care to the students, IGGDC, Jammu, aims to create a healthier society and instill good oral health habits from an early age.
This event has been yet another successful milestone in IGGDC, Jammu’s mission to promote dental well-being and empower the girl child.
The institute remains committed to organizing such impactful initiatives in the future to ensure a healthy and vibrant community.
