DGP Swain special welfare relief for NOKs of Police martyrs

Jammu, Nov 28: Continuing with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of the Police personnel/SPOs who have attained martyrdom or have passed away while in service, Director General of Police, J&K, R.R.Swain has sanctioned rupees 3.64 Crore as Special Welfare relief for NoKs of 15 deceased Police personnel/ SPOs and three martyrs.
Special welfare relief of rupees 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of martyr DySP Himayun Muzzamil Bhat, HC Ghulam Mohammad and HC Fayaz Ahmad who attained martyrdom in different terror related incidents. Similarly, the special welfare relief of rupees 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel SI Dharam Paul, ASI Nisar Ahmad, ASI Mahesh Chander, ASI Mohammad Rafiq, HC Sita Ram, HC Mohammad Maqbool, HC Saleem Khan, SgCt Mohammad Sadiq, SgCt Abdul Hamid, SgCt Manoj Kumar, Ct Mohammad Younus, Ct Anshu Sharma and Follower Mohammad Maqbaoo. These Police personnel have passed away due to illness/ natural death while in service.
Rupees one lakh each has already been paid to NoKs of martyr/deceased police personnel for performing their last rites. The Special Welfare Relief is sanctioned out of Contributory Police Welfare Funds.
DGP, J&K has also sanctioned rupees 6 lakh as Special Welfare Relief in favour of NoK of deceased SPO Ghulam Mohammad Teli and SPO Ghulam Mohammad who passed away during the course of their engagement in the department. Rupees 50 thousand has already been given to their families for performing last rites. The fund is sanctioned out of the Contributory Welfare Fund of SPOs.
Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families including schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs, schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and for the retired Police personnel and their spouses.
