Early Times Report

DODA, Nov 29: District Administration Doda is continuing its efforts to listen to the concerns of the last man in the farthest queue and take steps to uplift the underprivileged underserved population.
As part of the weekly Block Diwas, four mega public outreach camps were organised at Block Headquarter Bhaderwah; Panchayat Dadhkai, Sub Division Gandoh; PWD Dakbunglow Baggar, Panchayat Kurmail, Sub Division Assar and Panchayat Bhallara (Jashola), Sub Division Thathri, to address the genuine issues of the people living in the far flung and rural areas.
District Development Commissioner, Harvinder Singh, leading a team of officers, presided over the programme at Panchayat Dadkai.
The Dadhkai is a hilltop tribal village in the Gandoh Sub Division of the district, where the maximum population has genetic hearing and speech impairment. The DDC assessed the local issues and listened to the grievances of the local people. Many issues were addressed on the spot with the intervention of senior officers of different departments.
DDC Harvinder Singh also laid the foundation stone of Link Road to Dadhkai B and inspected the stalls set by the departments to provide on the spot public services and create general awareness of their schemes. He also administered the Viksit Bharat Sankalp pledge to the participating public as a part of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Program.
After listening to the local issues, the DDC directed the concerned department heads to resolve the same expeditiously and submit the action taken report before the next scheduled Block Divas. The hurdles and bottlenecks in the social security schemes were also resolved on the spot with the convergence of multiple departments. The DDC advocated that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp- a target of making Bharat a developed country by 2047- is scientifically achievable by collective efforts of all its citizens. He said that the execution work on the road to Dadhkai B has been started and is expected to be dedicated to the public soon. He asked the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department to ensure the availability of ration at designated stores. The Education department has been asked to provide subject teachers and meet the shortage of teaching staff in the government schools for quality education.
At other locations, Block Diwas proceedings also witnessed huge public participation. People put forth their demands, concerns and feedback, while the officers listened carefully for timely response and resolution. At block Headquarter Bhaderwah, ADC Chowdhary Dil Mir presided over the program, while at Bhallara, and Ramgarh SDM Thathri Masood Ahmed Bichoo and SDM Assar Lekh Raj interacted with the residents respectively. People appreciated the efforts of the administration for organising such camps to understand the needs of the area and timely response.
