REASI, Nov 29: An awareness programme was today held at Government Degree College Bagga -Mahore to attract the College youth towards agripreneurship.
The programme was held as per the instructions of Director Agriculture Jammu, Ram Savak and guidance of District Nodal officer/ Chief Agriculture Officer Reasi, Harbans Singh.
Students evinced keen interest in the employment opportunities in the agri sector.
The programme was aimed at educating the rural youth to come forward and adopt agriculture as a full time/part-time profession for remunerative returns. The participants were motivated by experts to become job providers instead of job seekers by adopting any project under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fishers and other allied activity.
Awareness regarding Kisan sathi and Daksh Kisan was also provided to the participants. Success stories videos of agri entrepreneurs were also shared with the youth.
The whole programme was coordinated by Block Nodal Officer, Vikas Sharma (SMS Dharmari) in the presence of the Sarpanch, Arshad Begam, Vice Principal, Ashraf Nawas along with other college staff. Kabir Mohamad, Suresh Chander, Anoop Singh, Dushant Kumar, Pradeep Dhar, officers of other departments besides a large number of students were present on the occasion. |
