JAMMU, Nov 29: In a collaborative effort to enhance financial literacy among students, Government Polytechnic for Women, Jammu, hosted an expert lecture on the topic of general banking in association with Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd. The session was specifically designed for students enrolled in the Office Management and Computer Application courses at the institution.
The officer from Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd. delivered an insightful lecture, shedding light on fundamental principles of general banking and delving into dedicated schemes aimed at empowering marginalized communities, including SCs, STs, and women. The lecture also featured an interactive session covering crucial topics such as Account Management, Loan Procedures, and Investment Opportunities tailored for the female demographic.
Er. Suket Gupta, the Principal of Government Polytechnic for Women, Jammu, expressed the purpose of the expert lecture, emphasizing its goal to disseminate knowledge on essential banking principles and to highlight special financial schemes curated to benefit women. The initiative aligns with the broader objective of fostering financial inclusion and literacy among the student community.
Er. Kamal Kumar, Head of the Textile Designing Department, played a pivotal role as the program coordinator for the expert lecture. Ms. Seema Pandita and Ms. Shiveta, along with other faculty members, were in attendance, demonstrating the institution's commitment to providing students with valuable insights beyond the classroom.
The event aimed not only to enrich students' understanding of general banking but also to empower them with information about financial opportunities and schemes available, particularly focusing on the unique needs of female students.
