JAMMU, Nov 29: Eight days training on First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation was conducted at Indian Red Cross Society, J&K-UT w.e.f. 20th to 29th November, 2023 for the commercial vehicle drivers and others.
The training was conducted by a team of Doctors from IRCS, JK dispensary led by Dr. Kavita Nijohn and Dr. Aasia Noor, Medical Officers assisted by Kanchan Devi & Ravi Kant Magotra, Supervisor Pharmacist and Naziya Bano, FMPHW. They imparted knowledge of commonly occurring situations in our day to day life. It was explained to the participants on the need to remain calm in adverse situations and how to give basic medical aid to anybody, if required.
A hands-on training was demonstrated in CPR and other medical conditions like bruises, cuts, nose bleeding, choking, fracture, transportation, fits etc. by the team. A special session on meditation and yoga was also conducted by the guest lecturer, Manjari Singh. The training was followed by a doubt clarification session and examination by Doctors assisted by Joginder Kumar, Pharmacist, IRCS Dispensary.
In the end, Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, IRCS JK-UT added that "as an organization, we feel morally responsible in doing our bit to improve man made and natural disastrous situations in the society. We are working towards promoting awareness and training people on handling medical emergencies especially in golden hour". The training ended with the distribution of Provisional certificates.
