JAMMU, Nov 30: Dr. Gulshan Bassan, Department of Political Science at Government Degree College (GDC) Kalakote, Rajouri participated in a day two-day online "International Conference on Sociology in South Asia". During the conference, Dr. Gulshan presented a paper titled "Watal Community in Kashmir: Neglected by Society, Government, and Media".
The two-day International Conference which was conducted from 28th-29th of November 2023 was jointly organized by the South Asian Sociological Society and Department of Sociology, P. G. Research Centre, Deogiri College Maharashtra in Collaboration with the Department of Sociology, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lukhnow. Among the 14 plenary speakers were Prof. Roberto Cipriani Italian Sociologist, University of Rome, Italy, Prof. K. L. Sharma former VC of Rajasthan University Jaipur, Prof. Abha Chowhan, President ISS, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala, Prof. Arvind Ansari, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi and others. Around 73 Scholars from different parts of the country presented their research papers during the conference. |
