JAMMU, Nov 30: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is gearing up for its December 2023 Term-End Examinations, scheduled to commence on December 1, 2023, and conclude on January 9, 2024. The university has established 849 Examination Centres nationwide, with 30 Examination Centres allocated to the Jammu Region. Among these, 27 are regular Exam Centres, while three are exclusively designated for inmates at District Jail Kathua, District Jail Ambphalla, and Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.
A total of 29,868 eligible students who have filled their examination forms under the Regional Centre Jammu are set to appear in the exams, totaling 1,54,825 sittings across the region. The examinations will be conducted in two sessions every working day, with morning sessions from 10 AM to 1 PM and evening sessions from 2 PM to 5 PM. No examinations are scheduled on Sundays and government gazetted holidays.
Students are advised to download their Hall Tickets from the University website. The direct link for downloading the Hall Ticket is IGNOU Hall Ticket Dec 2023, available on the IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in Front Page.
To maintain the integrity of the examinations, students must possess a valid Photo Identity Card issued by the University/Government during the examination. The use of mobile phones and other electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited inside the examination halls. Any candidate found in possession or use of unauthorized material or engaging in unfair means will face registration of the matter with the police and the declaration of U.F.M. (Unfair Means).
The Regional Centre Jammu has sought the support of local administration to ensure law and order and the sanctity of examinations by deploying security personnel at all Examination Centres. Postal authorities in the region have also been requested to cooperate with Examination Centres in accepting insured parcels containing Answer Sheets beyond the working hours of Post Offices to facilitate the timely dispatch for evaluation in accordance with university protocols.
