11/30/2023 10:07:58 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 30: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit welcomed the positive attitude of the Center towards all the demands including statehood ,reservation in jobs for Leh-Ladakh and the beginning of the round of talks by the Home Ministry. Along with this they have been demanded to fulfill the promises made to Jammu and Kashmir and to put a complete stop to the step-motherly and negative attitude towards the demands of the people.
While addressing in press conference organised at party centre office Jammu , state president Manish
Sahni said that the Central Government had promised the country and the people of Jammu and Kashmir a united(Akhand) , terrorism-free Jammu and Kashmir with the withdrawal of POJK.
The second term of the BJP government at the Center is about to end. PoJK still remains under the control of Pakistan, those claiming united Jammu and Kashmir, four and a half years ago on 5 August 2019, separated Leh-Ladakh from Jammu and Kashmir and divided it into two union territories.
Conspiracies are being hatched to destroy our cultural identity, participation of non-local people in local business, employment and educational institutions is increasing day by day.
Despite a long gap, statehood is not being restored to Jammu and Kashmir, the democratic process is not being restored. For the last 35 years we have been facing the brunt of terrorism, for almost the same number of years Kashmiri Pandits have been living the life of displaced people in their own country and state.
Sahni has demanded from the Modi government at the Center to give Jammu and Kashmir protection of its cultural identity under Article 371, privileges of local reservation in jobs and educational institutions and early democratic process and restoration of statehood.
Sahni said that if positive signals are not received from the Central Government on the above demands, then Shiv Sena will start a mass movement with the cooperation of all opposition parties and the public. On this occasion president mehila wing Meenakshi Chhibber, chairman. Rakesh Gupta, Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi, GI Singh, Vice president Sanjeev Kohli, President Kanghar wing Raj Singh, secretary youth Rajesh Handa, Mamta Devi were present.
