Doda girls shine in divisional level cricket tournament

DODA, Nov 30: In an outstanding display of skill and teamwork, Doda girls showcased their cricket prowess in the inter-district Divisional level tournament organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports in Udhampur.
The journey began with a resounding victory in the first match, where Doda girls defeated Samba by an impressive margin of 73 runs, setting the stage for their remarkable run in the tournament.
In the semi-final, Doda won the toss, elected to bat first, and set a challenging target of 160 for the opposing team. The star performers of the match were Maica, who scored 71 runs, and Shaweta Singh, contributing with a solid 54. The Doda bowlers, putting up a stellar performance, restricted Jammu to a mere 14 runs, securing a convincing victory by 145 runs and securing a spot in the final.
In the final match against Udhampur, Doda faced a target of 69 runs. The team showcased resilience and determination, chasing down the target in the last over with a winning boundary by Sharuti. The thrilling victory marked the culmination of the dedication of all team members, strategic decisions by coach Mr. Vinod Kumar and Satya Devi, and the guidance provided by Jaffer Haider Sheikh, DYSSO Doda.
The success of the Doda girls’ cricket team in this tournament is a testament to the collective effort, skill, and strategic decisions made by both the players and the coaching staff.
