Govt College of Education welcomes new students with induction program

JAMMU, Dec 1: Government College of Education Jammu organized a comprehensive One-Day Induction cum Orientation Program for the incoming batch of B.Ed and M.Ed students. The program aimed to provide new students with a detailed understanding of the two-year B.Ed and M.Ed programs, including the education curriculum and various training aspects such as internships, teaching practice, and field visits. Dr. Rajinder Kour, Head of the Department (HOD), played a pivotal role in guiding the students through the program.
In the absence of the Principal, Prof. Satish K Sharma, the Incharge Principal, motivated the students to actively participate in academic and co-curricular activities, emphasizing the development of global competence. Faculty members took the opportunity to orient the students with their respective subjects.
Prof. Shalini Rana, Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and HOD of English, enlightened the students about various cultural programs and advised them on developing effective communication skills. Prof. Vinay Lata, Incharge of the Psychology and Counseling Cell, provided insights into SPARSH, guiding students on the importance of psychological and emotional well-being.
The program witnessed the participation of several faculty members, including Prof. Sunanda Rani, Dr. Davinder Kour, Prof. Shalika Gupta, Dr. Rakesh Bharti, Prof. Seema Kumari, Prof. Kiran Thapa, Prof. Deepali Devi, Prof. Roopa Kumari, and Dr. Sonam Gandotra.
The event concluded on a positive note with Prof. Priyanka Mahajan delivering the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and emphasizing the importance of the induction program in providing a strong foundation for the academic journey ahead. The induction program at GCOE Jammu sets the tone for a fruitful and enriching educational experience for the new batch of B.Ed and M.Ed students.
