December 2023 term-end examinations at IGNOU commences

JAMMU, Dec 1: The December 2023 Term-End Examinations at the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) have kicked off seamlessly across the Jammu region. The examinations, spanning various academic programs, began on December 1, 2023, and will conclude on January 9, 2024. The University has established a total of 849 Examination Centres nationwide, with 30 in the Jammu Region. Among these, 27 are regular Exam Centres, while three are situated exclusively in District Jail Kathua, District Jail Ambphalla, and Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu for jail inmates. A total of 29,868 eligible students, who have filled their examination forms under the Regional Centre Jammu, are participating in the exams, accounting for 1,54,825 sittings in Examination Centres spread across the region. The examinations are conducted in two sessions every day, from 10 AM to 1 PM in the morning session and from 2 PM to 5 PM in the evening session. No examinations are scheduled on Sundays and government gazetted holidays.
Flying Squad teams from the Regional Centre Jammu, led by Dr. Sandeep Gupta (Regional Director Incharge) and Dr. Asha Upadhyay (Assistant Regional Director), conducted surprise checks at several Exam Centres, including Central Sanskrit University Kot Bhalwal, KC College of Education Akhnoor Road Muthi, Govt. College of Education Canal Road Jammu, GGM Science College Canal Road Jammu, and Govt. Degree College Kunjwani Jammu. Their visit expressed satisfaction with the fair and smooth conduct of examinations. Other Flying Squad teams, under the leadership of S Tejinder Pal Singh (Deputy Registrar) and Dr. Vikram Singh (Assistant Regional Director), visited Examination Centres at Bhargava Degree College Samba and Govt. Degree College Kathua, as well as Govt. Degree College Akhnoor for surprise checks.
