| Peerzada directs early assessment of crop loss due to flood, hailstorm, paddy blast | | | SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 20 – The Pradesh Congress Committee President and Minister for Education, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed today directed the revenue authorities to assess the loss of damaged crops and horticulture products due to recent flood, paddy blast and hail storm in different areas of Hajjan, Sonawari Sumbal and Pattan in district Baramulla. The directions were given after number of deputations of Congress Block Presidents of these areas met JKPCC president at Congress headquarter here today. Peerzada asked the authorities that these areas have affected very badly due to flood, paddy blast and hailstorm and assess the losses so that government would provide relief to the affected farmers. He assured the deputationists that every step would be taken in this regard and government has already issued directions to assess the loss of damaged crops and property throughout the state. He said central teams have also visited the state and hoped that relief package would be sanctioned soon for the affected people by government of India. The deputations include, Peer Ghulam-ud-Din, Vice District President, Baramulla Mohammad Maqbool, Mr. Salam-ud-Din, Mr. Mohammad Rafi, Mr. Gulzar Ahmad and Mohammad Anwar Sheikh blocks presidents. |
