International Day of Persons with Disabilities observed in Samba

SAMBA, Dec 3: Social Welfare Department Samba, in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Samba and NGO Muskan Foundation, orchestrated a significant event to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities here today.
The event, held with the aim of raising awareness about welfare schemes and initiatives, saw active participation of the stakeholders committed to enhance the lives of divyangjans.
Director General of Police J&K, R.R. Swain; DIG, Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Shakti Pathak; DC Samba Abhishek Sharma; SSP Samba Benam Tosh; ADC Suresh Chander Sharma; District Social Welfare Officer Nawaz Sharief, Advocates Varsha Anthal and Tania Pargal, along with members of the Muskan Foundation Samba were the prominent guests.
DGP expressed commendation for the welfare measures being implemented by the Social Welfare Department and District Administration Samba for divyangjans, acknowledging their significant contributions towards the well-being of the specially-abled community.
Earlier, District Social Welfare Officer, Nawaz Sharif, shed light on the diverse welfare schemes being implemented by the Social Welfare Department, underscoring their pivotal role in uplifting the lives of divyangjans.
A representative from DLSA discussed the dedicated efforts being made by the legal Authority towards the welfare of specially-abled individuals.
The Muskan Foundation representative underscored the advantages of the Nirmaya scheme for those affected by autism, cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities, and intellectual disabilities. Attendees were also briefed about their voting rights, enhancing their civic participation.
The event was attended by DGP J&K R.R. Swain, DIG Shakti Pathak Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Abhishek Sharma DC Samba, Benam Tosh SSP Samba, Suresh Chander Sharma ADC Samba, Nawaz Sharief DSWO Samba, Advocates Varsha Anthal and Tania Pargal (Defense Counsel), along with members of the Muskan Foundation Samba.
