Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 3: In a significant breakthrough, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Jammu successfully apprehended a long-sought fugitive, Rahul Kumar Singh, after 11 years of evasion. Rahul Kumar Singh, also known as Rahul, is the son of Sh. Triguna Singh and hails from Village Benaud, P.O. Sarahu, District Chapra, Bihar, with an additional address in Sailqui Haripur, District Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
The arrest comes in connection with a case registered under FIR No. 10/2013, involving charges under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of RPC r/w 5/2 PC Act SVT 2006, and Section 27 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. The case was registered with Crime Branch Jammu, and after the allegations against Rahul Kumar Singh and other accused were substantiated, the charge-sheet was presented in the Court of law on 20-06-2013 for judicial determination.
Despite the charge-sheet, Rahul Kumar Singh had managed to elude authorities for over a decade by changing locations outside the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Court had issued an arrest warrant under Section 512 Cr.PC against him, setting the stage for a determined pursuit by law enforcement.
Through meticulous planning and well-coordinated efforts, the Special team of EOW-Crime Branch Jammu successfully tracked and apprehended Rahul Kumar Singh in Dehradun.
Following the arrest, he was promptly produced before the Court of law to face the charges against him.
This successful operation marks the 19th arrest of absconding criminals wanted under Section 512 CrPC by the EOW-Crime Branch Jammu in the last 5 months. The dedicated efforts of the law enforcement team demonstrate a commitment to justice and the relentless pursuit of individuals evading legal consequences.
