DC sensitises students about enrollment process, Voters’ Service Portal

SAMBA, Dec 4: Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, Samba, conducted a meaningful interaction with students from Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College, Samba and Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Samba, here today. The objective of the session was to inform the students about the Special Summary Revision 2024, which is a crucial exercise to revise the electoral roll with reference to January 1, 2024 as the qualifying date. The DC enlightened the students about the essence of democracy and the pivotal role of voter registration in strengthening the democratic system. The discussion aimed to foster a high sense of civic awareness among the students. Highlighting the contemporary modes of participation, DC Sharma briefed the students about the methods of self-registration through the online Voter’s Service Portal. He stressed the importance of this digital mode and advised those who are not well-versed with online services to seek assistance from their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs). While inspecting the college premises, DC noticed the requirement of infrastructural development. Accordingly, he instructed the Public Works Department (PWD) to expedite the completion of the pending boundary wall at Sh. Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College. Moreover, he issued a directive for the complete fencing of the entire college area.
These directives aim to enhance the security and overall infrastructure of the educational institutions within the district.
