Jammu Division triumphs in badminton and fencing competitions at MA stadium

JAMMU, Dec 4: In an exhilarating showcase of skill and sportsmanship, Jammu Division emerged victorious in both Badminton and Fencing competitions against Kashmir Division at the Indoor Hall of MA Stadium Jammu.
The Inter District Division Level Fencing competitions for U/14 & U/17 Yrs. boys and girls, along with the Inter Division UT Level Badminton Competitions for U/19 Boys and Girls, kicked off on December 4, 2023. The Department of Youth Services and Sports of District Jammu took charge of hosting these competitions, which were conducted under the patronage of Director Youth Services and Sports JK UT, Subhash Chander Chibber (JKAS), and the guidance of Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Suram Chand Sharma (JKAS). The overall supervision was provided by DYSSO Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
The primary objective of these competitions is to identify and select the most talented players and athletes for the next level of competition.
In the Badminton U/19 Boys and Girls category, Jammu Division demonstrated their prowess by defeating Kashmir Division. The boys' team secured victory with a score of 2-1 sets, while the girls' team clinched success with a convincing 2-0 sets win.
Simultaneously, in the Fencing competitions, the results for various categories are as follows:
U/14 Yrs. EPEE Boys:
Daksh - Gold - Udhampur, Garish - Silver - Jammu, Mohit - Bronze - Udhampur and Kaustabh - Bronze - Udhampur
U/14 Yrs. Foil Boys:
Raghav - Gold - Jammu, Udhyan - Silver - Jammu, Shivansh - Bronze - Jammu and Sadhvik - Bronze - Jammu
U/17 Yrs. EPEE Boys:
Rinku Singh - Reasi - Gold, Munish - Samba - Silver, Rohit - Udhampur - Bronze and Lalit - Samba - Bronze
These competitions not only showcase the talent and dedication of the young athletes but also serve as a platform for fostering healthy competition and camaraderie in the sporting community. The participants exhibited exceptional skills, and the success of Jammu Division reflects the commitment to sports excellence in the region.
