Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 4: Karman Singh, a 10th-grade student at Jodhamal Public School, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing a British patent for his groundbreaking invention-an innovative Smart Dustbin equipped with Monitoring and Categorized Waste Disposal. This achievement places Karman among the youngest individuals globally to be awarded a patent, representing a significant leap forward in urban waste management.
Karman's patented invention introduces an Internet of Things (IoT)-Integrated Waste Management System. This groundbreaking solution addresses the challenges associated with urban waste disposal by combining real-time tracking of dustbin positions with automated detection of fill levels. The system ensures timely waste collection, contributing to cleaner urban environments.
This accomplishment not only marks a personal milestone for Karman Singh but also highlights the dedication and hard work exhibited by the students and faculty at Jodhamal Public School. The school runs an Innovation Hub that mentors prospective scientists and innovators. Past achievements include app-based solutions to social problems recognized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a website supporting the government's 'Atmanirbhar India' initiative.
Karman's invention is a significant step toward creating a cleaner and healthier urban environment, serving as an inspiration for aspiring young innovators globally. Dr. Parveen Singh and Dr. Pawandeep Kour, proud parents of Karman Singh, expressed their joy, emphasizing their son's enduring passion for innovation-a trait cultivated and nurtured over the years.
The Management, Staff, and students of Jodhamal Public School collectively celebrate Karman Singh's incredible accomplishment, reinforcing the institution's commitment to fostering visionary thinking. Nandan Kuthiala, Trustee of Jodhamal Public School, and Principal Girish Kumar expressed sincere appreciation for Karman Singh's exceptional efforts, acknowledging his ingenuity and the nurturing environment at JMPS.
