DDC Chairman reviews progress of developmental activities in Doda

DODA, Dec 4: To ensure that the developmental activities in the district are going on as per the timeline, maintaining the quality as per the prescribed guidelines, Chairman, District Development Council Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal today presided over a meeting of the Council here in the conference hall of DC office complex and took a comprehensive review of the developmental scenario in the district.
Among the others present in the meeting were Vice Chairperson DDC Doda, Sangeeta Rani; BDC Chairpersons; DDC Councillors; ADDC Doda; SE PWD; SE Hydraulics; SE JPDCL; ACP Doda; DFO Bhaderwah; CMO Doda; Executive Engineers of PWD/PHE/PDD and other district officers.
It was informed that 308 works under DDC grants are ongoing in the district involving an amount of Rs 470.76 lakhs. The works are under execution by RDD, Jal Shakti, JPDCL, Forest, PWD, Health, Ground Water Department Jammu, and YSS Department.
During the meeting, the DDC Chairman took a comprehensive review of the physical and financial progress of different departments under various schemes and sought up to date status in this regard. All the councillors provided inputs on the ongoing developmental works in their areas with bottlenecks hampering execution of some of the important public works. DDC Chairman issued directions to the concerned authorities for taking appropriate measures to address the bottlenecks and ensure the projects/ works are completed and dedicated for public use in time.
While speaking in the meeting, the DDC Chairman urged the officers and councillors to synchronise their efforts and ensure the efficient delivery of public services for inclusive development in the district. He asked the officers to provide the public with the best possible relief by providing them with all basic amenities. Chairman laid thrust on speeding up the pace of execution to complete the works in a time bound manner. He also directed them to make endeavours aimed to ensure prompt execution of works and holistic development of the district and asked them to work with utmost dedication in taking the district forward in the developmental front. The Chairman also asked them to be proactive towards the public grievances and try their best to redress all the genuine grievances of the public in a time bound manner.
Referring to Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra Programme, he asked the officers to strive for saturation of welfare schemes and spread awareness about the important initiatives launched by the Government to benefit the public. He urged the officials to reach out to the underserved, underprivileged and weaker sections for their hand holding in getting their due share of benefit for overall development of the district. He reaffirmed the commitment to work towards achieving the goal of attaining the developed status for our country.
