Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 4: The Economic Offences Wing – Crime Branch Jammu has filed a charge sheet against Davindra Singh Soodan, a retired Principal and former head of Higher Secondary School Panorma in District Rajouri. The charge sheet, submitted in the Court of law, follows the case registered under FIR No. 78/2023 U/S 420/IPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu, accusing Soodan of cheating a complainant under the pretext of arranging a Government job under SRO-43.
The complaint, filed by Sh. Ghulam Sadeeq of Darhal Rajouri, alleged that Davindra Singh Soodan, while working as the Principal of Panorma Pvt. Academy in Rajouri, had promised to facilitate a government job for the complainant's daughter under SRO-43 in place of his deceased wife, who was a government teacher. To process the case, the accused demanded and received Rs. 1,54,000 from the complainant, assuring him of securing the appointment for his daughter.
However, the accused failed to fulfill his commitment, neither arranging the promised job nor returning the money to the complainant. Subsequently, a preliminary verification was initiated by the Economic Offences Wing – Crime Branch Jammu, which, during the course of the probe, substantiated the allegations. Formal charges under section 420/IPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu were established against Davindra Singh Soodan.
The charge sheet, submitted for judicial determination, details the findings of the investigation, including seized records, witness statements, and various pieces of evidence establishing the accused's deliberate and intentional act of cheating the complainant out of his hard-earned money.
The case underscores the commitment of the Economic Offences Wing – Crime Branch Jammu to address economic offenses and ensure justice for victims of fraudulent activities.
