12/5/2023 10:03:28 PM
Early Times Report
SAMBA, Dec 5: In a significant achievement, the Samba Police, under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police Benam Tosh, has successfully arrested a notorious heroin supplier known as "Kala." This individual, involved in multiple cases of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPSA) and attacks on the police, was considered a top-tier supplier in the infamous Chitta hotspot Rakh Barotian Vijaypur district, Samba.
The arrested heroin supplier is identified as Masoom Ali alias Kala, son of Dulla, resident of Rakh Barotian tehsil Vijaypur, district Samba. "Kala" was wanted in six cases, including attacks on police personnel and NDPSA violations, with FIRs registered against him in police stations Vijaypur and Samba.
The arrest of "Kala" comes after an intensive pursuit by the police for over six months. Despite managing to evade police cordons, raids, and special checkpoints multiple times, the relentless efforts of the police led to his capture. This success follows the recent arrest of his wife for an attack on the police.
The police team, led by SHO Police Station Vijaypur Sandeep Charak and PSI Ankush Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, played a crucial role in apprehending the wanted heroin supplier.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh highlighted that the arrest is part of the ongoing crackdown on narcotics suppliers and smugglers in the region. Samba Police has successfully arrested 78 narcotic suppliers and smugglers in the last ten months. Stringent legal actions, including detention under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PITNDPSA) and Public Safety Act (PSA), are being taken against the arrested individuals.
The continuous efforts of the police underscore their commitment to curbing drug-related activities and maintaining law and order in the Samba district.
