Jammu, Dec 6: The annual General Body Meeting of the Senior Citizens Support Services Club in Chowadi concluded with a Hindi play. Chaired by Dr. Kasturi Lal, the Chairman of the Club, the meeting brought together members for discussions and activities.
Maj Gen SK Sharma, AVSM, the General Secretary, provided an overview of the club’s activities over the past year. Since its establishment in December 2022, the club has organized more than 10 major activities and addressed societal issues. Notably, efforts were made to promote Dogri language in the region through events like Dogri Kavi Ghoshthi, Dogri plays, and interactions with prominent personalities in Dogri literature.
The club also conducted awareness programs for senior citizens, including a rally by school students and a seminar with participation from university professors. Activities on World Yoga Day, appreciation functions for senior citizens’ social commitment, and plans for upcoming events, such as Lohri celebrations on January 14, were outlined.
During the meeting, various members, including Sh. SK Jain, Sh. NK Khajuria, Ms. Anju Bansal, Lt. Col Dharam Vir Sharma, Sh. Abhinandan Jain, and Mr. Vijay, showcased their talents. The event concluded with a play titled “Ek Dhoop Safed Si,” presented by Sh. Rajneesh K. Gupta and Smt. Santosh Sangra.
