| Bajwa supports agitating employees | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 12- Extending his all support to the agitating government employees, former Rajya Sabha member and senior leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Sardar Trilok Singh Bajwa today lambasted coalition regime for not accepting just and genuine demands of the government employees. In a statement issued here today, Bajwa reminded that during the campaign of just concluded assembly elections, both the Congress and the National Conference had promised to implement recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission. He, however, regretted that after attaining power both the coalition partners have adopted indifferent attitude towards genuine demands of the employees. He reminded that National Conference president and former chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah had himself promised during the elections that first task of National Conference government would be implementation of the pay commission report. While supporting the agitating government employees, Bajwa assured them that PDP would not remain a mute spectator to their on going struggle. He asked the State Government to immediately implement recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission report as employees have been facing hardship due to soaring prices of the essential commodities. Former Rajya Sabha member said that during the election campaign leaders of National Conference had made a number of promises to lure the gullible masses. "After grabbing power leaders of the ruling coalition are not serious in fulfilling these promises", he said and asked new government to fulfill these promises. He further said that National Conference leaders had also promised to give relaxation in education for the recruitment for police but no steps have been taken so far in this regard also.
